Proper Number 12, What is it and how rich will it make Conor McGregor?
In this post we will discuss Conor McGregor’s new Irish Whiskey saying what it is and most important of all when can you get it for Brennan’s Bar?

As a lot of people saw Conor McGregor launched his own Irish Whiskey brand ‘Proper Number 12’ back in September during the UFC 229 fight press conference. Although the question stands, what actually is it?, Why was it made? and When can you try it? and Actually how much money is it going to make Conor McGregor?
This Irish Whiskey was made by Master Distiller David Elder (who was formerly the master distiller at Guinness) at the Old Bushmills Distillery in Ulster, Northern Ireland. The Whiskey it’s self is triple distilled and was aged in casks which were used to age Bourbon before hand which means that the Whiskey will have a faint Bourbon taste in it. The spirit is bottled at 40% which means that it has been cut with water for a taste that will have been agreed on as correct.
McGregor gave a quote stating that “We created close to 100 blends and ultimately selected what we knew was the one and only Proper whiskey blend”. This tells us that the Whiskey it’s self is a blended whiskey rather than a straight single malt.
As for the name, Conor has said that it was named after Dublin Postal district 12 in which McGregor grew up.
Initial tasting reviews have stated that they whiskey has ‘ Hints of vanilla, honey and toasted wood’ although another taster stated: “It was incerdibly mild, with a bitter caramel quality that I can only describe as unsweetened Werthers Original.” Take from that what you will but it doesn’t sound too bad to me!
As for getting to try Proper Number 12 unfortunately Conor responded to a few messages stating that it will not be available in England until 2019, we are guessing this will be around the same time as his next fight which his coach John Kavanagh said “I think Summer is probably realistic”. And you know we at Brennan’s Bar will have it the day it is available! Although it is already available in Ireland and USA so if you get the chance to try some tell us what you think!
The Bottle it’s self has been set at a price of £39.95 already which isn’t too bad especially when you consider that £3.80 from every crate sold will be going to help first-responder charities.
Now the most interesting question is how much will Conor McGregor be making from this whole whiskey business? Well Dana white gave a few quotes saying “The whisky thing is probably going to make this kid a billion dollars. They can’t keep his Proper 12 whisky, they can’t keep it off the shelves” as well as “It’s flying off the shelves. All the casinos around here are not only serving it, selling it. He’s killing it and good for him.”
So there you have it, Conor McGregor’s Whiskey all cleared up! What do you think of it all? will you be getting some when you can?
